永泰以戰(zhàn)而興。從高處俯視，整座城狀若一只巨龜伏在戈壁灘上。

Yongtai was built and developed as a result of warfare. From the aerial view, the entire city resembles a giant turtle sprawling on the Gobi desert.

城墻上有馬面12座、城樓4座, 四面有4個(gè)甕城，供奉不同的神祇，象征著龜首與龜足。城周有護(hù)城河，北側(cè)建有一大六小烽火臺(tái)，象征龜?shù)奈膊俊?/p>

The city wall is equipped with 12 ramparts known as "Mamian" and four watchtowers. In addition, four walled barbicans encircle the city, each dedicated to a distinct deity and representing the turtle's head and limbs. The city is protected by a moat, on the north of which stands one major and six minor beacon towers resembling turtle's tail.

城內(nèi)西北處建有校場(chǎng)，設(shè)演武臺(tái)、靶墻等。城內(nèi)街巷大多是丁字路口，交錯(cuò)相通，有利于防守和巷戰(zhàn)，寓含龜甲紋理般的寓意象征著堅(jiān)固與持久。

In the northwest of the city lies a drill ground equipped with martial arts platforms and target walls.Streets and alleys, predominantly featuring T-junctions, intersect and connect throughout the city. This intricate layout, bearing a symbolic resemblance to the pattern of a turtle's shell, is both impregnable and conducive defense and street fighting.

永泰古城巧妙的布局 不僅能發(fā)揮顯著軍事防御效能，還充分兼顧行政管理，文化交流，以及居民生活需求等。

The ingenious layout of the Yongtai Ancient City not only serves as a formidable military defense but also adeptly integrates administrative governance, cultural interaction, and the daily needs of its inhabitants.
